Meet Jayne - your travel advisorAll travel advisors are passionate about travel but what you really want to know is how I work and what you can expect when working with me.
Phase one: We connect with a free consultation. This is a lot like dating to see if we like each other, talk a while and discover your interests and what really gets you excited when making plans. Is this a special occasion or a milestone birthday? An anniversary? Do you prefer a more active river cruise? Do you like holidays with marine biologists, ornithologists on board that you can have a meal with? Do you want to have authentic cooking classes in Italy? May I book you in the Excellence class on the Bernina Express? Are you a movie buff and if so, how about those movie locations? Would you like to have an authentic experience in Iceland like scuba diving or 4-wheeling? How about those resorts in Mexico that are simply divine which go undiscovered in your searches? Let's talk about Costa Rica and the best regions for wildlife and biodiversity and the same for Crete, Galapagos, Madagascar. Phase Two: If the conversation has gone well and we decide working together is a swell idea, this is where I tell you about collecting a $250 deposit towards your holiday. This is a "plan to go" deposit. Once I've secured your booking and you've returned (typically 30 days after you've returned) the tour operator, etc. pays me a commission. That commission is there whether you use a travel advisor or Expedia, for example. Phase Three: I send you a link to make the "plan to go" deposit and once paid, I get to work for you! You put up your feet and relax. I've got this! No more untold hours at the computer with a mountain of guesswork and hoping for the best. The relationships and connections I have in the travel industry are better than any blind review (How do you navigate these anyway??). Phase Four: I've listened to all your wishes and send you a proposal that we refine until it is exactly what you are looking for. I make the booking arrangements via a credit card authorization form that you've already submitted for that "plan to go" deposit. That's it! We stay in contact while waiting for that special day marked on your calendar. You return rejuvenated and ready to plan the next adventure! |
